Good day!

I am Chuck an HR staff handling the compensation and benefits program. I would like to ask about the computation of the overtime pay and holiday pay of the employees who are in a shifting schedules.

Example:

1.Regular Shift of the employee:
11pm to 7am -April 30, 2012
2pm to 10pm -May 1, 2012

Scenario:

April 30, 2012 - regular working days
May 1, 2012 - Legal Holiday

Now if the employee works on April 30, 2012 at 11:00pm and end his shift at 7:00am the following day which is May 1, 2012 (legal holiday).

Then, on May 1, 2012 the employee works again to his new shift schedule of 2:00pm to 10:00pm. (Legal Holiday)

My question is how am I going to compute for the 1st day?

2. We are using the 314 factor and restdays are not paid but legal and special holidays are paid. What if the legal holiday falls on employees restdays? Am I going to pay the employee an additional 1 day pay for the legal holiday falls on employees restday?

Thank you..
