My sales performance last year was not satisfactory and now I am being asked to sign a document (performance plan) which states that if I did not meet certain objectives in 6 months, my employment will be terminated. Is this standard procedure? I do not feel comfortable signing anything without legal advice. Can I be compelled to sign? Thanks.

if you are management, then that will be reasonable, but if you are rank and file. only if amounts to gross and habitual neglect

I am non-union but I am not part of management. Is it reasonable to ask for a copy of the performance plan so I can have it reviewed? Thanks.
