I just would like to ask what I can do about my previous lessor/landlady who, after a month of delay, to return via check the deposit agreed within the contact.
According to our contract I should have my 2 months deposit returned to me in check 1 month after I vacate the unit. We vacated the place completely by January 7 which means by February 7 she should pay me the check. But a lot of excuses were made that she keeps on delaying the payment which until now she wouldn't contact me when she will really pay me back my deposit. I'm sure she can return the payment to me asap as someone already rented the unit which we have vacated already and some other mores came but she always give on excuses that the check is not ready and such. What can I do or what case can I file against this person? I want the case to end quickly. You're help would be greatly appreciated.
