I would like just to inquire or have knowledge on this topic. My uncle, 3 cousins and I were charged of attempted homicide. What are the chances that the charges may be lowered to physical injuries only?

The story was one of my cousins were beaten by a muslim boy. They're both 17 years old. So the natural instinct of the family members was to protect my cousin who was beaten and my uncle retaliated and hit the 17 year old muslim boy too. And the medico legal of the 17 year old muslim boy stated that he just had injuries that could heal within 6-9 days only. Thank you in advance.

Was the charges of attempted homicide exaggerated?

seems exaggerated, but really depends on the evidence presented.
