Salamat

Usually, kapag nadedelay or worse nagde-default sa loan with a financial institution, standard procedure nila to call you to follow up on payment. And then kapag may certain amount of time na ang lumipas and hindi ka pa rin nakakapag settle ng outstanding balance mo, it’s possible na i-turn over na nila ang account mo to a 3rd party agency and then sila na ang mag co-collect from you. Even sa mga banks and telcos, practice nila yan.

In terms of what will happen to you naman, take note na hindi criminal offense ang non-payment of debt, pero possible pa rin na mag file yung institution ng Small Claims case to ask for help from the courts to collect from you. I don’t think magkaka record ka naman sa NBI, pero there is a very strong chance na papangit ang credit record mo, kasi pinapasa ng mga financial institutions yung credit records ng customers nila sa government (through Credit Information Corp. yata), tapos na she-share pa ito sa mga iba pang institutions.

So kapag na share yung bad credit record mo sa iba, magiging mababa na ang chances mo na ma-approve for other loans.

Some banks, like for credit cards, they offer amnesty programs di ba? Have you tried calling or talking to Home Credit, baka may ganoong process din sila?
