Project Based Employment legality concern

Arresto Menor

Hi, I am a Call Center Employee nearing my 6th year in the company as an agent. I have plans of resigning soon to find a better employment and I have learned that we do not get anything more than a back pay of the days we have rendered work before resignation. Basically no separation pay.

My employment status is "project-based" and I started on June 03, 2008. My contract is renewed each year at the same time the client renews their contract. So each year from 2008, our contract is being renewed as "project-based employee".

A friend of mine have mentioned from another friend that it is not legal according to the Labor Code to have this kind of set up wherein the contract is being renewed each year under "project based" employment and does not lead to regularization.

I would like some help and enlightenment on this matter.

Your reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
