If a vehicle was lent to you by the owner and the vehicle was accidentally bumped by someone, can you claim damages to that vehicle on behalf of the real owner if the owner does not want anything to do with that vehicle anymore? There is no deed of sale nor power of attorney that states that the vehicle was handed to your custody/care.

no, because you have no property interest in the vehicle, unless the owner is claiming from you.
