When she was still single, my wife paid downpayment for a piece of land, and continued paying the monthly amortization for 3 years. Then in December of 2009 (she was still single at the time), she submitted to the developer the requirements to transfer the title to her name. However, it took almost a year for the transfer of title to be executed -- the title was transferred to her name on November of 2010.
The problem is, we were already married by the time the transfer of title was finally executed on November of 2010 (we got married on May of 2010). So now our concern is this: does the piece of land legally belong to my wife, even though the title is under her maiden name?
