abandonment without financial support from husband

good day sir. my husband left almost 2years ago to get a job in his hometown now living with his mom he said he has no means to support his family here. for almost 2years now he sends no support to his family and no communication whatsoever. what is the first step i may do to force him to support his child who is still studying in college. i have no means to support my own family. my mom helps me on my finances ever since my husband left. one more thing he left with a lot of financial obligations on friends and relatives with money he borrowed when he started a business and eventually losses. please help i am in dire need.
