In May 2010, my wallet was stolen in Hong Kong, and 2 of my credit cards were used. When I reported the loss, I also checked for the last transactions made. I learned of the fraudulent floating transactions, and informed the bank (thru the call center agent) that these are fraudulent. Each transaction amounted to more than P100K. I didn't get any confirmation from the credit card company on any of these transactions. One of the credit cards was even an ID-card with a picture. The theft was reported to the Hong Kong police, and I submitted all the reports to the credit card companies and Bangko Sentral.

A year after the incident, I have been harassed by collecting agencies and the credit card companies still insist that we pay our "debts". They are KIND enough to offer alternative payment options. Bangko Sentral seems powerless, while Filipinos seem to have no credit consumer rights.

What should I do? Thank you in advance for your help.

imo, you are required to pay the credit card company for purchases made before you reported the loss, but you have the right to collect from the merchants who allowed your cards to be used fraudulently.
