December of 2009 I got my first 350 SUNTEL Easy plan under six months contract in sun cellular, I smoothly paid my monthly bill until march of 2010. Then on April to June 2010 I entrust the landline numbes (SIM) to my cousin and let him paid the remaining months (april-june 2010) until the end of the contract. To make the story short, years past, and on Feb,2011 I applied for another landline or the 350SuNTEL easy plan, not less than an hour they approved my application and got my landline (SIM)with the 3 months contract. Now June 2011 I am applying for a postpaid plan, and I comply the necessary requirements and submitted the documents. After two days CSR from Sun Cellular called me and asking me to settle the past due balance, and I was surprised because I just paid my last bill for my current SUNTEL plan,...tlking with there accounts department they said that I have to pay the past due for my first plan which is unpaid from april to june 2010, and continuously charges me 350Php/month until now... I am very upset, and what should I do, given that my cousin did not pay the bill for april to june,2010, why they did not cut off the line. and why they did not inform me during the time that I applied for my current SUNTEL PLAN, and just now that I am applying for postpaid plan they are asking me to pay those things...What should I do? Can I do something for me not to pay the charges or at least lessen the amount?Where or to whom I should go.? Looking forward for your kind help and advice.

there is no proper transfer of your account to your cousin.hence, for all intents and purposes, the first plan is still under your name.hence, you must settle the same. while it may be true that sun has lapses in not verifying your first account before issuing the second account, the fact remains that it still has outstanding balance which you need to pay under your contract with them.

Hi, I got a problem with my Easy broadband account with SunBroadband. When I subscribe with this internet plan I had a one (1) month advance which they told me to be used on the last month when I want my plan terminated. Last June 2 of 2011 I visited Digitel Office in Sta. Rosa to have my subscription terminated because I was unsatisfied with their internet services and they had me signed a request for disconnection form. before i left, I clearly stated to them (Digitel Staff)to send me a Bill for any balance after they less the 1 month advance that I payed before. After 2 months I received a call from Sun Broadband informing me that i have an unpaid amount plus the Bills generated for the Month of July and August. I was surprised knowing that from the time I had my plan terminated until the day when they called I didn't receive any Bill Statement and yet they're still charging me for 2 months of a disconnected internet.

Now my question is:
- Do they have the legal right to bill me after I requested for Disconnection (subscription plan termination)? given that the day I requested to send me a Bill statement right after I unsubscribed, in fact they only send me the bill two months after which includes the months that I'm no,longer using they internet services.

- Should i face any legal issues if I'll only pay the balance that is due to me not the latter 2 months after I unsubscribe?

Looking forward for your advice.

does your contract have a lock in period? what proof do you have that you requested disconnection?

hi! I am a suncellular subscriber since May 2009. And I made negligence of payment but was able to pay my outstanding balance before due date, prior to the final notice I received monthly bills and decided to permanently cut off my subscription and since my plan is good for 2 years, I am still obliged to pay. but this time around I just received FINAL NOTICE of my outstanding balance but I haven't received any monthly bills, is it right to ambush the consumer with FINAL NOTICE without even sending them monthly notices???

HELP!

contact the company first to find out why they are still billing you.

from a legal standpoint, there's nothing unlawful about sending a demand letter.

Hi, I received a demand letter today from Lauron Delos Reyes & Partners (LDRP) stating that I nees to settle unpaid and overdue account amounting to more or less 4k. It was also mentioned in the letter that if I fail to pay the said amount within 5 days from receipt of letter, they will be constrained to file the case against me in Quezon City.

I'd like to ask if that is possible given that I am not a resident of QC, and the place where I applied for that postpaid line is not in QC as well. And also, the main reason why I decided to terminate my line is because of their failure to send me monthly statements.

Thanks a lot.
