We are promoting our company via unsolicited email to fellow Filipinos.
Are there laws in the Philippines that can apply - or can be interpreted to apply - to bulk emailing?
In the US laws are in place against spam/bulk mail under CAN-SPAM Act http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN-SPAM_Act_of_2003, but as far as I know, there is no such law here.
One may say better do a voluntary compliance with USA CAN-SPAM BUT the question is, why would we have to? My view is that we are not bound by a law as we are not US residents/citizens our and activities are not targeted to US. I would be concerned though if the laws are Philippine laws.
