hello, my philippine girlfriend had our baby 4 years ago while working in germany,she returned 5months after birth to Cebu and has raised him here since then.the german embassy sent her a letter today inquiring about my son.should we be concerned and hire a lawyer before we respond? i am a canadian working in canada and would like some help on this,thanks roger.

actually, he may have triple citizenship! germany considers you a citizen if you were

Children born on or after 1 January 2000 to non-German parents acquire German citizenship at birth if at least one parent:

has a permanent residence permit (and has had this status for at least three years); and
has been residing in Germany for at least eight years.

what did the letter say?
