is it legal with regards to philippine labor code?

1. company has no grace period?
2. company deduct 30minutes salary for 15minutes late, 1 hr salary for 30mins late and half day salary for 1 hr late.?

3. aside from that,
company create a policy of: 3 consecutive late during the month

verbal warning for 1st offense
1 day salary deduct for 2nd offense
2 days salary deduct for 3rd offese

this penalty is impose together with regular late deduction.


if this is illegal, can anyone send me where in our labor code can this be clarified to the HR?

help!

moderator

companies are given the management prerogative to impose reasonable rules and punishment.

it's ok not to have a grace period, but i don't believe these punishments are reasonable. deductions are not meant to be used as disciplinary actions.

thanks alot

some of my officemate react on this matter. but what the owners said is " we dont have an union so he can do what he wants"

is it true that without an union he has the right to implement any policy he wants?

you can file a report at DOLE. no, it's not correct to say that the management prerogative is unlimited if there's no union.

Hello All,

i would like to ask if is it fair, that we dont get a grace period for the tardiness while we are ask to file overtime after 2hrs of rendered overtime?

is it still a fair practice?

Legal poh ba ito sa philippine labor code?

1. company deduct 1 hour salary for 1-14 minutes late
2. 1 day salary for 15 minutes & above late
3. 3 consecutive late during the week will have
1 day salary deduct for 1st offense
1 week suspension for 2nd offense

this will be implemented in our office by Monday kasi marami nalalate dahil working kami up to 11 hours daily, hindi namin alam kung legal ba ito or dapat kami magreklamo...

and also we regularly have our over time which is approved naman ng management kasi marami kami kelangan tapusin pero ung rate ng OT namin is under same rate ng 8 hours work namin... wala din kami medicard pero 1 year & 4 months na kami sa company.

Please advice...

hindi bawal pero hindi naman din tama.

overtime - dapat bayaran ang tama lagpas ng 8 hrs.

nasa contract ba ninyo na meron kayong medicard?

more concern kami sa 15 mins late will have 1 day salary deduction... so instead na pumasok kapa edi wag nalang kung wala karin naman sweldo...

ung sa medicard poh ang sabi samin nung april magkakaron daw kami at uunahin daw muna ung sunlife insurance pero both hanggang ngaun wala parin...
