It depends on the total amount owed from you.
There is what we call small claims court, and individuals can file their claims quite easily in said court. You should check the nearest small claims court in your area and seek help from the clerk of court there in filing your case against the other party who owes you a sum of money.
If the amount is higher, the Regional Trial Court is your next step in filing a case. At this point, you need the services of a lawyer specializing in civil law to file the necessary civil case for collection of sum of money against the person who owes you money.
