double payroll

Just an inquiry regarding on our case, last year month of May, me and my colleague received a Php 10, 000 from our employer and deposited in our account same time with payroll/salary. Thinking it was midyear bonus.

Then recently, we were claiming the midyear bonus to our employer because we received it last year. Upon making follow up, they emailed us that the assumed midyear bonus last year was not actually midyear bonus but a double payroll, which they want to deduct to us.

Is this right? its been a year and out of the blue, they want to charge us, besides its there accounting department mistake.

yes, its not your money. u have to return it. think of it nalang as na advance na yung salary nyo by 10k for a year.
it doesn’t matter who made the mistake. its a mistake. a bank may wrongly credit your account you cannot keep the money

do your own math so you can confirm who is right. you can go to DOLE also and ask the employer to justify their plan
