I would like what are the possibilities of changing my child's name without the father's consent.
We are not married, he now lived in Canada. He never gave any financial support for our child since Feb of 2015. But sometimes he sends FB messages to our child asking how is she doing. Recently we had a chat in FB, he offered to help our child's school expenses with monthly allowance,in return, i will allow him to talk to her and spend time with our child everytime he will visit here in the Philippines. I have no problem with that since he can have a chat with her in FB anytime. I was thankful for his offer, so i ask him what if you fail to do all that and forget about our child again like what you did for almost 3 years. he just told me "edi awayin mo ko ng todo" ... for me i find it pointless to fight and argue with him over again, so i told him if you fail to do or give what you have said, i can change my child's name even without his consent. He did not agree with that condition. He said until i take the change name out of our condition he will not give anything.
Can i consider this as grounds for abandonment, even we had this kind of conversation?
What are grounds for abandonment?
My bottomline is I want him out of the picture legally, I know he will fight if i file this in court.
