Hi! I just want to ask the process and possible fees for annulment? My ex and I were married young. 19-20 years old. Both parties have parents present. But the process was expedited. We did not attend any seminar, we were not the ones who filed for licenses, the wedding happened quickly because they said that the venue was needed for another occasion etc. all i had to do was appear and say yes. At that time i was inlove. But fell out. My ex had a fling with his ex. They started chatting saying i love yous and all. I just wanted to be free again. Its true when they say 'ang pagaasawa di parang kanin na pag sinubo, iluluwa'. We tried everything but the love just wasnt there. Is there anything i could do? One of the reasons we got married so fast is so that he can go to Japan. I can give him visa to work there since im a citizen there. I admit i wasnt ready to get married that time but felt no choice since what life could we both possibly have here in the ph. Pls help. Thank you.

If you are a Japanese Citizen, you could just file for divorce in Japan.

It doesn't matter it's actually irrelevant as long as Japanese law allows you to divorce. The alien can divorce the Filipino spouse in the country of origin in accordance with that country's laws.

Ah then you cannot ask for divorce. The irregularities in your documentation could subject those who perpetrated the same to administrative liabilities but that does not mean that your marriage would be voided on those grounds alone.

You might want to consult a lawyer and ask if you could ask for a declaration of nullity based on psychological incapacity.

Thanks and I hope my question will be answered.
