Hi,

My employer asked me to sign a non compete clause on my first day of work. I have no choice but to sign as i cannot take back my resignation from my previous employer. If i resign and transfer to a company within the same industry, would there be a ground to sue me for a non compete clause?

That is the purpose of the non-compete. It's not some useless scrap of paper that is meaningless. It's meant to protect the company from disloyal employees who might peddle their secrets and methods to potential competitors when they leave.
