Good day po.
My sister is a ofw in Dubai, she has a daughter turning 6 this August. Her child using the last name of her father but he and my sister is not married. Is it possible she could bring her daughter abroad without the consent of the father? The father is no longer supporting the kid.

Yes, it is possible because an illegitimate child is under the sole parental custody and authority of the mother (since they are not married).

However, if the child is going to travel in the company of another person (other than the mother), the mother has to issue a written consent which is approved by the DSWD.

I made a research on the required documents for abroad. Where can we get the affidavit of acknowledgement and consent to use the surname of the father. Do we need to talk to the father about it?

As I have mentioned, if the child is going to travel with the mother, no need for travel clearance from DSWD.

You don't need an affidavit of acknowledgement and consent to use the surname of the father. You don't even need to inform the father kasi illegitimate child.
