My father died last year. He was 61 years old. He regularly received his monthly pension (SSS and GSIS) through his bank. Our family did not file a death claim but we still keep getting our father's pension. It will be stopped on April 2017. My mother is the only legitimate beneficiary.
Questions:
1. What is the legal complications in this situation?
2. If there is, can we still file a claim to avoid it?
3. GSIS needs my mother's birth certificate directly from her hometown which is miles away from us. They are not accepting the NSO-provided/delivered birth certificate.
