Gusto ko lang po sana humingi ng advice. Year 2012 nung ma approve ang petition ng mom ko para sa akin sa US. Her immigration lawyer adviced her to tell me not to get married until my priority date becomes current.
I had a girlfriend whom I really love and we wanted to start a family. (She was 22, I was 29). To cut the long story short, we eventually got a spiritual marraige by a license minister, but we never acquired a marraige license. (Kasi nga wala kmi balak iparegister due to my petition).
My delemna is this, we recently had a daughter, and we registered her as an illigitimate child (kasi nga wala naman kaming marraige certificate). Now, after a discussion with my family, we wanted to make our marraige valid.
Now my question is, can I just file a late registration of marraige instead of remarrying in a civil court? If I can do that, paano yung birth certificate ng baby namin? Ma aamend ba sya?
May plan kami to go to a civil lawyer s monday. Just wanted to get insight ahead of time.
