I have my 5yo son, I am unmarried, and my son's mother already has her own family now(no idea if she is married, though). My son is with me but I have no "legal" custody of my son since he's <7 and should be under the mother's custody.
I've read the requirements online but I have further questions.
1. In my situation, do I qualify to apply for the Solo Parent ID?
2. And also what is really the "income threshold" to qualify for this?
What I'm really after is the Parental Leave, but getting other benefits would be better.
I'd also want to add this question:
3. When my child reach his 7th birhtday, does he automatically fall under my custody? or do I have to file something?
