I was working for an online news publication based in the US as a writer from January to March this year. Before my deployment, I was asked to review and confirm a contract detailing what is expected of me and how much I would be compensated for.
Needless to say, they have yet to pay me and a few other writers and editors. They currently owe me 25,000 pesos. The company's PH team has since reached out to the employees assuring us that would get paid. They did not however specify when.
I have emailed the HR team asking when should I expect the pay to come in.
Since I have agreed to a contract and I have the document signed by the people from the Online News Publication, is there something I can do to ensure that I would get paid. Does the labor code have provisions for online service rendered? Do I have a case against the company?
Thanks!
