Can you share some of your experiences when it comes to managers or Supervisor issues?

If you’re losing people, look to their supervisor. More than any other single reason, he is the reason people stay and thrive in an organization. And he’s the reason why they quit, taking their knowledge, experience and contacts with them. “So much money has been thrown at the challenge of keeping good people – in the form of better pay, better perks and better training – when, in the end, turnover is mostly a manager issue”. If you have turnover problem, look first to your managers and supervisors. Beyond a point, an employee’s primary need has less to do with money, and more to do with how he’s treated and how values he feels. Much of this depends directly on the supervisor.

Your assertion has merit, but that is not absolute since most resignations/terminations are on a case-to-case basis.

Managers/Supervisors are crucial in developing the abilities of their employees and keeping their morale high. Indeed, managers who lack basic leadership skills tend to make employees demotivated up to the point of them leaving their work. However, it is wholly unfair to put all the blame on them since the personal attitude and motivation of the employee also plays a huge part in their self-improvement and work ethic.

Our point of view here must be balanced and equitable for both the manager and the employee, if we are to assert a general viewpoint. Nevertheless, I do understand your opinion and to a degree even agree to it.
