Well. ((As far as I know)) as long as you don't become counted as widow/widower by your spouse die or is away many years without it's known where, so become counted as dead, there are no good solution, if you want to marry again and be in the Philillpines.

Is your marriage proper registered in the Philippines?
If not, you have some chance to marry again in the Philippines without anyone notice
BUT it's illegal.

Sorry Lunkan, but I may have to correct you.

If you are already divorced in Korea, the change in your status from married to divorced is not automatic. What you need to do is to file for a Petition for Recognition (of your divorce) here in the Philippines. Once granted by the court, the necessary documents must be forwarded to the local civil registrar for updating of your records.

After your records have been updated, you can marry again. You will need a lawyer for the Petition for Recognition of Divorce because it incolves court proceedings.

Are you sure? I thought that possibility is only when the SPOUSE make the divorce abroad.

If it can be done as you say, why don't many Filipinos do like that? Smile instead of spend much time and money to try to get annulment or not trying at all?

Yes, I am sure. I am on the assumption that the divorce was obtained by the foreign spouse in Korea. Naturally, if the divorce was obtained by a Filipino, it will not be recognized here in the Philippines.

The reason why a Filipino who was divorced abroad by the foreigner spouse has to file for recognition of divorce is to capacitate him/her to remarry.

Then we agree Smile

I understood it as it was ohkissie who made the divorce in Korea, but perhaps I missunderstood.

If your ex husband is Korean and he was the one who filed for divorce, it can be recognized here in the Philippines. You have to file for Petition for Recognition of Divorce. It is a court action.
