Grandfather deceased. Grandmother allows her granddaughter and children to live in grandmothers home.
Grandmother has 6 surviving children. One pressures her to sell the land and home which she refuses to do. He also yells at granddaughter telling her to move out as she has no right to be there.
As I understand the law, granddaughter has no claim to the home upon grandmother's death.
QUESTION 1: If grandmother executes a deed of usufruct (apologies if that is an incorrect term!) granting granddaughter full possession and use of the home for as long as granddaughter lives, is the granddaughter protected and can then live in the home with her children.
That is, with a legally executed usufruct, is there any way she can be forced out of the home?
QUESTION 2: If the granddaughter does have possession of the home, who is responsible for paying taxes on the home, the granddaughter or the grandmother's children?
Thank you very much for any help on this topic !
