mispelled middle name

Hello....i wish to consult my brother in law's problem regarding his mispelled middle name that he only discovered when he took his birth certificate for his application to get a driver's licence. His middle name on his birth certtificate got a different spelling from what he is using in the school so he would like to correct it or seek ad advice on how to fix this problem before he could apply for another documents that he will be preparing for his future job application considering that he will need to get a passport, NBI clearance, seaman's book, etc. most of this applications requires the birth certificate but his middle name on it was mispelled. Please give me an advise on how to fix this problem. Thank you very much.
