Would there be liability--criminal or otherwise--if one party posted an announcement in the newspaper claiming the he is the authorised distributor (in fact and supported by documents) of an item and that another named party is not authorised to sell or distribute the item, even as the latter had already ceased selling or distributing the item. Can the latter complain that the former's act is malicious and is causing the latter damage in reputation?
