Is it legally acceptable in the Philippines for a foreigner previously married to a Filipina years ago who had returned to his home country and got a divorce to marry a new Filipina he's with overseas rather then the Philippines and have it accepted?
Basically divorce in the US is legal but to marry again in the Philippines I've been told I need to have my divorce *legally recognized* which lawyers locally have told me will range artound 100k and take near a year to process. So rather then then would I be able to say, marry my Filipina fiancee in Hong Kong, Thailand, or some other country and then have that accepted in the Philippines?
Basically the cost but more so the 1 year wait at this point isn't acceptable. Thus I'm looking for any other sort of alternative.
