Dear Atty,

This is rhunz again. I want to ask regarding my birthcertificate. Its problem are my surname instead of Fulminar in my NSO birthcertificate is Pulminar. And my gender is instead of female its male. What should i do for this one? how much will it cost to change this?thanx!

I believe your name will count as clerical error. your gender, on the other hand, will probably require a judicial petition for correction of entry.

i believe the fees for clerical error for name are around P2k. you will have to ask the civil registrar for their list of requirements. on of the threads i provided has the one for caloocan city to give you an idea.

for the change in gender, you will have to retain a lawyer to prepare your petition. cost will depend on the lawyer you retain. good luck.
