Arresto Menor

Hi, Good Morning.
Situation:
X has 100,000 debt from Y. X was able to pay 50,000.
after the court decision, X debt has been prescribed.
X, out of his conscience, still pay 20,000 to Y.
Can X still legally recover his payment to Y? since his debt has been prescribed..
