I was a quality specialist but then our company declared overstaffing they asked us to do 7.5 hours of phone time like regular agents they kept convincing us that its not demotion as we are still quality specialist and theres no change in our salary, is there no demotion committed? how can they say we are still quality specialist if our job is comparable to agents?

demotion exist when there is a reduction in SALARY, RANK and POSITION... Don't you think it's quite better than terminating you and the rest of the guys due to system/company loss?

i do think there is no demotion takes place but seems additional duties and responsibilities..did they make you sign your Job Description wherein the added duties indicated?

the standard for constructive dismissal is that the demotion is designed to make you quit and not due to some legitimate biz purpose

well it's been awhile since i took 7.5 hours of calls in a day and not only that i find it difficult but i find it humiliating to be taking calls like agents with regard to signing the new job description i haven't signed yet I asked them for more time before I sign
