I need to resign immediately, so I can't render a 60-day notice period, as written in my contract. My company does not give a separation pay so they can't hold that against me. I also do not care if they will give me Certificate of Employment or my last pay.
HOwever, it is in my contract that should I violate this notice requirement on resignation, I will pay the company Php 200,000 as liquidated damages.
Is it lawful here in the Philippines to make an employee pay as much as 200K for immediate resignation?

if it's in your contract.. then you have to abide by that.. you sign it diba? if you did not agree you should not have signed it..

Yes, I signed it. But given the situation that I really need to go, and I don't have that much money to pay 200K, will I be imprisoned? Thanks, Patok...
