Hello,

Would like to ask if there is any action that I can take to formally file a complaint against a bank/collections agency. I have an existing loan with a certain bank and unfortunately, I missed paying the last 7 months of my loan term. Last November, I received a call from a collection's agent offering to waive penalties and promising me that my account will be up to date until that month if I settle a certain amount; leaving only 3 months until the maturity of the loan. And so I comply since I will be saving a sum of money. I put an effort to raise the amount they require hoping that my account will be up to date. Come December, I received another call harassing me that I owe the bank almost the same amount of money totaling to 7 months plus interest charges and penalties.. I did not pay the remaining 3 months of my loan since they kept on insisting that I still owe them 7 months. Meaning the amount that I paid by November just went to penalties, interest etc. I've been explaining this to all the agents that I spoke with to the point that I started avoiding their calls since they won't accept the agreement made by November. They are also mum that one of the agent mentioned that to me. They kept on calling me and throwing lambasting words which I can no longer swallow. This already caused my depression and I'm indecisive whether to settle the full amount (by applying for another loan with higher interest) that they indicated or stand by the agreement that was made last November. I'm a middle class worker who is the breadwinner of the family and I wouldn't want a criminal case filed against me. Im willign to pay the remaining 3 months amortization but not the full amount which is totaling to 7 months amortization plus the interest from december to present. Also, this bank made me issue a cheque even if I don't have a checking account
