Good Evening.

May estudyante, taking up seaman course, na nag apply for OJT sa isang shipping company per requirement nila para maka gradwar.

Nag pirma sya ng waiver against future claims in case of injury or death. One time, habang nag di-diskarga ng cargo, natamaan sya ng isang kable at nakuryente.

Tanong:

1. Is the shipping company liable for the injury sustained by the trainee?

1a. What if the trainee was provided allowances, amenities, etc. - Does that constitute employing the trainee, rendering the waiver void?

please help.
