Arresto Menor

My aunt has not paid about 5 months rent and had asked the owner to at least extend a week so that she could at least try to find money to pay. Unfortunately, after a week she could not find money and could not pay her dues, and the owner of the house is planning on suing her.

Can she get arrested for not paying rent?

Please reply soon, thank you!

Just tell your Aunt to be frank enough and let the Landlord understand her situation.

Suing is the last remedy, the Landlord can file for Unlawful Detainer.

She had already extended for another week but unfortunately she still couldn't gather the money to pay for it.

So she could be sued, but wnt get thrown into jail right? I heard a PH law stating that no man shall be imprisoned for debt? I'm sorry if I don't know much I am just a kid.
