I was offered a job for a particular company. the following day after the offer was made, i sent an SMS message to the HR Manager confirming my acceptance of the offer which the HR Manager acknowledged. The following day, the HR manager asked if i have resigned from my company. I replied that i haven't being under the premise that the signed offer letter of employment is still with me. I was advised by the HR manager that it is ok even if they don't have a copy. i scanned a copy of the signed job offer and emailed it to the company afterwhich tendered my resignation coming from the previous day conversation with the HR Manager. during the interim, there were questions posted on my resume on certain work gaps and jobs that were not declared in the resume which was properly and immediately addressed and acknowledged also by the HR manager. after a week from the acceptance of the offer, the HR manager sent an email to the head hunter informing the head hunter that they are rescinding their offer coming from reference checks they have finding me unsuitable for their requirement. My question is what can i claim for this? given the advise to resign by the HR manager, i am now left without a job, moreover, the confirmation of the hr manager that the offer letter was good was a big factor in my purchase of a property. I have paid for a non-refundable reservation fee. Now i am left with no job at the same time a loan i cannot afford after they have rescinded the offer.
