is it half of the basic salary to be the basis of separation pay or the half of monthly salary received by the employee? please advise.. employee was terminated because of retrenchment.. tnx

it's based on the basic pay only unless there is company policy that includes allowance etc in the computation.

imo, it should include all remuneration received, but in practice most will accept even if based only on the basic salary
