Gud am. Noob here.

It is stated in the employee's handbook:

Tardiness will be salary deducted and be issued by a memo. First verbal, 2nd written, Third 3 days suspension and 4th dismissal.

Nabawasan ka na sa sweldo, nabigyan ka pa memo. I read that no person will be penalized twice for the same offense.

Question:

Is it legal to deduct salaries and issue memo for the same offense?

Tnx in advance!

what do you want to hear?

you were late, ofcourse it will be deducted to you, do you expect to get full day's pay even if you're late?

to answer your question, yes it is legal to deduct tardiness and issue a memo for the same offense.

you can also get terminated due to tardiness.

imo, deduction should be based only the actual length of the tardiness; beyond that it becomes a penalty being imposed without due process.

as for a written memo, that is proper to inform you of the offense
