Hi, my boyfriend has been working for this fabrication company since February 2012 but never signed a work contract. Today, he was told that he need not come in for work starting Monday, October 1 2012 because they do not need him since there were no design accounts coming in. Are there any laws regarding this? And what can he do that is still under the Labor Laws?

he could file a case of illegal dismissal at NLRC.

What will he get if he files for a case of illegal dismissal? And can he still take legal action even if he has no contract? Thank you so much for your reply.

it is precisely because there is no contract which makes him a regular employee from day 1.
