we have a british employer and we follow uk holidays in our business schedule. wages are computed daily, no work no pay, if they don't have work there because of a uk holiday, we don't work here as well but we get paid for that day as if it's a regular working day.
during philippine holidays that does not coincide with uk holidays, we also report for work but we do not get any holiday pay. if a philippine holiday is the same day as a uk holiday, and since we don't have work on those days, we get paid the regular rate which is still normal.
there are about 14-15 legal philippine holidays compared to 9 legal uk holidays. our employer allotted 4 regular days as "special" working days for the business where we will be given double pay to compensate and balance out the holiday difference.
is this setup ok and adhering to current philippine labor laws?
