i have applied for a personal
loan on sept 0f 2007 unfortunately i became a delinquent payer due to financial problems i have other debts with a credit card co and another bank that i still owe money from.my salary is not enough to pay for these debts but i am aware of my obligation that i need to pay for these debts.as of the moment i have no job i have no means to pay for the loan, i have requested if they could enroll me in their payment assistance program but to no avail.i have requested that they provide me with my current billing statement and a record of all my previous payments so that i am aware of how much i still owe them but they have not provided me with one as well, i have reciepts for past payments but for some it is missing.what options do i have? i would be looking for a job after two months because im still recovering from my hospitalization due to a stillborn pregnancy, hoping for your help regarding this matter.thank you

Right now, you are at the mercy of your creditors. If they do not want to afford you leniency, it is their prerogative. At least you have tried reaching out and this is a sign of good faith on your part.

Once you have the money, I suggest that you settle first your personal loan obligation. Banks/credit companies tend to file legal action when it involves loan obligation rather than credit card debt.

If you have the resources to pay your debt, request first for a reduced/compromise amount or otherwise ask for a waiver of some penalties and fees.

Before paying, be sure that there is a compromise agreement which lays out the terms of payment that is mutually acceptable to both parties. Do not sign without any written contract or acknowledgment from your creditor stating the total amount of your obligation and the terms of payment. Otherwise, your creditor can simply apply your payment to such interest, penalty and fees and it would be as if your total obligation has not
even been reduced.
