Hello Atty,


Ask ko lang po. Okay lang po ba na hindi papalitan
yung surname ko kahit na married na ako sa asawa ko? Sabe
po kase ng employer ko hindi ko makukuha yung company benefits
kung hindi ko papalitan yung surname ko. Discretion ko
naman po kung palitan ko yun di ba? Pero dineclare ko naman
sa employer ko na married na ako e.

a married woman is allowed to retain her name so there should be no basis to deny you any benefit

Hi paigetaft.

You are correct in saying that it is your discretion not to use the surname of your husband. As long as you declared to your employer that you are already married, you are entitled to all company benefits.
