Can forgery be proven in court if the person whose signature was allegedly forged denies the fact that it was forged?

A contract was entered into by my parents and another party. The other party is seeking to nullify the contract on the grounds that my mom's signature on the document was forged. However, my mom is categorically denying that the signature is forged and admits to signing the document herself.

Can the other party nullify the contract under this claim?

what is the nature of the contract? why are they trying to annul it? is it truly forged?

No, there was no forgery but the other party is planning to pursue that avenue because my mother and father are estranged and my mother is out of the country.
