have a good day... my problem is concerning about my middle name, i've been using it for the past 30 yrs, all my legal documents and even in the birth certificate of my child, only to found out when i went to DFA to get passport, me and my son, there is descrepancy between mine and my son, how long will it take for me to correct that, or is there a possible way to make it more shorter time? thanks...

have a god day...there is a correction in my middle name, i used the correct spelling for 30 yrs now, and i found out that in my legal document NSO birth it was different. I applied the correct spelling to my sons birth cert, now im applying passport for both of us, and there is a correction needed. how long will it take for me to correct that?

yong niece ko po kailangan nyang i correct ang middle name nya . kasi ibang middlename ang nakalagay sa birth certificate nya. napakalayo po sa totoong middle name nya . ano po ang mga dapat gawin para ma correct ito . gaano din po katagal and processo ?

michel, if it can be considered a spelling issue then it can be corrected under ra 9048 and it takes about 6 mos.

maridel, you have to file a petition in court to correct it.

good day...ang nakalagay po na middle name sa birth certificate ko ay ang middle name ng mother ko noong single pa siya, instead of her surname. nalaman ko lang po ito nang mag aaply po ako ng passport sa dfa. eversince po ung tamang middle name ang ginagamit ko pati po sa lahat ng records ko. can it be considered a clerical error and corrected under RA9048? thanks..

one thing more po..I was born in Palawan but I am now a resident of Rizal. Can I file the petition in the nearest Local Civil Registry Office?
