Arresto Menor

Is it lawful for a company to impose salary deduction as a sanction for an employee if he/she is not in proper uniform?

This is a new policy being implemented in my company. Anyway, I was encouraged to ask because I remember before that a team manager in my previous company was rumored to be terminated because he imposed monetary punishments on the team when they got tardy.

I wonder if it's true and if there is a legal basis?
