Hi Legal Advisers,

Is insubordination same with failure to obey instruction?
We were alleged for insubordination and later alleged to failure to obey instruction. What's the difference?
Does failure means, delay in doing the task?but we did the task. What if the reason of delay was due to urgent work task (major task) are we still guilty of failure?

Hi, insubordination is similar to failure to obey instruction, nonetheless, check your employees manual to see their exact definition as in some company provides higher penalty for insubordination as it is deliberate defiance of the lawful order of the supervisor, while lower penalty for failure to obey instruction because it is a mere non-observance of company rules / manual / instructions, which is not be deliberate.
