hi atty, ask ko lang ho kase na approve na yung legal adoption ng husband ko. pero nung kinasal kame yung biological last name pa ho ang ginamet namen. lahat ho ng documents ko yung adoptive last name na ang ginagamet ko except for the marriage contract. kailangan daw ho kase sa court na ito ipa amend. ang tanong ko ho is, dapat ho ba yung lawyer na nagpra practice dun sa kung saan ako city nakatira ang gamitin ko? for example i live in mandaluyong dapat ho ba taga mandaluyong din ang lawyer na gagamitin ko? can i just represent myself para wala ng masyadong gastos? please help me.

lawyers are licensed to practice in any court in the philippines.

i do not recommend you scrimp. even some lawyers cannot answer what are the jurisdictional requirements that should be alleged in the petition, and those that should be marked at the first hearing.

ok so i guess i can use any lawyer within the philippines. My next question is usually how long before the court can finally amend my last name? would it take more than 6 months?
