I've been working 10 hrs a day, six days a week for 30 yrs in a private company. during my time i have not signed any contract with my employer. i had no increase in wage(always in floor value for the minimum) or any benefits aside from my philhealth and sss. i am contemplating on resigning but im afraid that i would not be receiving even a separation pay or retirement benefits for that matter. im old now and working for 30 yrs had rendered me incapable of working for long.

Now, my employer is asking me to sign a contract/bond, letting them take 10% of my salary that i could only claim when i leave. i couldnt let that happen you see, since my current salary had never been enough to sustain my self and my family for years.

please do advice me on what steps should i make to protect my interest. and also, are there no laws that could help us employees to gain reward for our long service and loyalty? are employers and companies not obliged to give benefits for their employees?

thank you so much for reading my entry.

you are not yet old enough to warrant retirement so if you resign, you will not receive any separation pay. 10 more years unless the company allow an earlier retirement pay.

i find this deduction to be an unlawful imposition so i don't recommend you agree. (unless you have a debt to the company)

so the company would decide if i could retire early? my employer have not talked to me about my retirement plans. are they obliged to provide that? my other co-worker is 55. we want to know if we could build a case based on this.
thank you so much for your time.
God bless
